Susan Wood
Susan Berry Wood, 42, of Hixson, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009.
Susan was a loving wife to Matt and a great mom to Rachel and Brody. She was very faithful to her Lord and left sunshine wherever she went. Susan was a fantastic sister, loving daughter and to her kids she was their rock. She made everyone feel special around her. She talked to her family last week about being ready if God called us home. We never thought it would happen so fast. Susan’s light shined to everyone and everywhere. God gave her a gift and everyone around Susan saw Him in her. Susan’s smile would light up the room and will truly be missed. Jesus welcomes her home, but we miss you so much. She was a faithful member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church and the Bible Drill.
Susan will be tremulously missed by her husband, Matt; her children, Rachel and Brody; and her parents, Charlotte and Harold Berry. Susan always laughed and called herself, “Mom and Dad’s favorite.” She also leaves behind her sister, Karen Duncan “the smart one,” and her family Jeff, Christina, Stephanie and Allison; her brother, Steve Berry “the baby boy,” and his family Valerie, Heather and Nicole; her grandmother, Dorothy Holland; and her friend and workers.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and 11 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the North Chapel.
Services for Susan will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the North Chapel with Dr. David McNabb officiating.
Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Susan’s name to Dallas Bay Baptist Church, 8305 Daisy Dallas Road, Hixson, TN 37343.
